What is West Virginia GEAR UP?
WV GEAR UP is a federally funded, six-year program aimed at
Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs. GEAR UP provides rigorous educational services to help students plan, apply and pay for education and training beyond high school. The program serves
schools within ten counties.
This year, students in WV GEAR UP schools can be HEROs (Higher Education Readiness Officers). HEROs will help their school, their classmates and their community to dream big and get ready for college. Are you a HERO?
